Over a million of Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals (FDMNs) took shelter in 34 camps in Cox’s Bazar, a district in south-eastern Bangladesh in August 2017. The Government of Bangladesh, together with national and international partners, have been proactively responding to this crisis through extensive humanitarian response. There is a coordinated effort to provide critical lifesaving assistance – including food, nutrition, shelter, water, health and hygiene, psycho‐social support and counselling, and basic education services – to the Rohingya people living in the camps and host community settlements.
ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) is responding to the Rohingya crisis since 2017 and working on Site Management and Site Development (SMSD), Protection, Disaster Management, WASH and Self-reliance. AAB is working as a site management agency in four camps in Teknaf Uapzia (camp- 21, 26, 27 and NRC), and doing site development work in three camps in Ukhiya Upazila (camp – 11, 12 & 19). AAB has protection and WASH activities in camp – 04, 04 ext., 09, 10, 11, 12 and 18.
AAB is seeking for Sector Lead: SMSD, DRR and Self-reliance for its Rohingya Response Programme (RRP) in Cox’s Bazar who will directly manage the Site Development project funded by IOM and also provide technical support to and coordinate all projects related to the sector in the FDMN camps and host community in Cox’s Bazar. S/he will represent AAB in the relevant ISCG sectors and will have a leadership role. The incumbent will also be responsible for maintaining of ActionAid’s working standard and approaches, Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS), Monitoring, Evaluation and Accountability Framework in all projects in her/his portfolio. S/he will support the Progamme and Partnership Development Team and represent ActionAid Bangladesh as and when required in the capacity of a coordination.
