To ensure meaningful participation of children, ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) forms a Child forum for children between the ages of 10 to 18 years old. By developing leadership quality among the members of the Child Forum, usually, AAB takes different steps for the improvement of the situation of child rights and child protection.

The effects of climate change on the Earth's surface can be seen from space. We live together on one planet and we are all affected by climate change. From February to April 2021, ActionAid is working in partnership with the Space for Art Foundation on a global art project, which will bring together young people’s voices from around the World.

During community visit, on 4th of March 2021, meeting was held with three Community Journalist Groups at LRP-50, Lalua-Champapur. Total 18 members attended the meeting with AAB team. The main purpose of this meeting was to inspire the members to write whatever they want to share. One of the participants, Maria said, “At first, I would like to thank you for coming here & give us the opportunity to share our learning with you. As our school is closed now, we don’t have that opportunity to meet with friends on a regular basis. And so today I am feeling great to have a wonderful time with my friends. I just want to say you that I loved to write. But sometimes it happened that, I did not understand what to write. But now, I don’t think much. When I feel bad, I write, when I feel good, I write. It’s amazing to arrange my own thoughts with words. And now I try to be very conscious about the problems of our community as I have to solve those through my writings. I try to talk with other children whether they are facing any problems or not. I also tell them to write. I want to do something for the children by writing about their rights, problems. Thanks to ActionAid to inspire me in this regard. It really means a lot to me.”

In a constantly changing environment, having life skills is an essential part of being able to meet the challenges of everyday life. The dramatic changes in global due to the pandemic situation have been matched with the transformation in technology and these are all impacting on education, the workplace and regular life. To cope with the increasing pace and changing new normal life, children need new life skills such as the ability to deal with stress and frustration. In the upcoming days children will join over the course of their lives, with associated pressures and the need for flexibility and importance of Life Skill Based Education (LSBE) for the children and adolescents is vital in taking decisions by them under adverse situations. Considering the fact, ActionAid Bangladesh(AAB) arranged a Three days long Life Skill Based Education training at LRP 50. Total 24 participants including the members of Child forum, CJG(Community Journalist group), LRP staffs and field facilitators of LRP 50 has been attended the three day long training with AAB Sponsorship team.

Recently ActionAid Bangladesh has provided exercise books for around 15,000 community children in Bangladesh to encourage them to continue their studies at home.

Child Sponsorship Unit of ActionAid Bangladesh celebrated ‘Child Rights Week 2020’ at its 15 LRPs under the theme ‘Creating a new world with the children’ during October 5-11 announced by the Government of Bangladesh.

ActionAid Bangladesh has provided soaps to around 15,000 children all over the country to encourage them to frequently wash their hands for 20 seconds.

Historically, Violence Against Women (VAW) has been always there, as a prevalent and persistent problem. Women’s safety remains at risk everywhere, whether it is her home, her workplace or the institution where she studies. To bring the spotlight on Violence Against Women in Bangladesh, its trends and solutions, ActionAid Bangladesh has come up with research studies which have been launched this January 17, 2019 at the Bishwo Shahityo Kendro conference room in the capital’s Banglamotor area.
