Aysha (13), the Player of the Match of Handball said, “This is the first time I played Handball. I practiced for 11 days and per day I gave 2 hours for this. We used to practice in a school field and teachers at that school allowed us to use that field and even gave us guidance on playing Handball. My team players and I did not know any rules of this sport, but we get inspiration from family, teachers, and ActionAid. I became the best player, and my father is more excited about this. I want more of this kind of opportunity to play.”

With the view of having a safer world, ActionAid Bangladesh recently had taken the initiative of tree plantation in LRP-53, Lalmonirhat, and LRP-54, Shyamnagar in October 2022.

During the celebration of Child Rights Week in 2022, ActionAid Bangladesh organized a health camp in Bakalia.

After a grassroots competition at local levels, 24 children in eight groups from the working areas of the 08 Local Rights Programme (LRP) took part in the Quarter Final Round online debate competition on 03 October 2022.

Like previous years, ActionAid Bangladesh has collaborated on child rights week with partner organizations in organizing different events and activities in its various intervention areas across Bangladesh with children.

Children have been trained on various things through three days of training on ‘child journalism’ organized by ActionAid in the Kallyanpur working area from 16-18 September 2022.

To enhance the child’s mental development, flourish the capacity of Child Forum members, and to make children confident by ensuring meaningful participation in the development process, ActionAid Bangladesh arranged three days long capacity building training with 30 child participants on “Child Leadership & Cultural Movement” in 2022 to enable the members to explain the basic idea of leaders and leadership; demonstrate essential leadership skills required for mobilizing others including communication, team management, conflict management and decision making; build confidence in their own leadership abilities for social change through different cultural activities like drama presentation, singing. 30 children from Child Forum, Youth Group and Community Journalist Group along with the community facilitators participated in this training.

ActionAid Bangladesh organized ‘Life Skill Based Education (LSBE)’, a three daylong training at LRP 43 with the objectives to help children by providing practical, cognitive, emotional, social, and self-management skills for life, to be exposed with the methodology of the Skills for Life course and to learn about the Skills for Life Toolkit.

To improve understanding of program approach of ActionAid, a 4-day-long residential training on HRBA (Human Rights-Based Approach) has been arranged at ActionAid Global Platform (GP) for LRP (Local Rights Program) & AAB (ActionAid Bangladesh) staff.
