Officer - Programme and Partnership Development (PPD)

Job Summary:

The role of the incumbent is to assist program and Policy campaign (PPC) Directorate to develop grant winning concept notes and project proposals. The person will provide support to and build linkages with programmatic areas of AAB, International Partnership Development (IPD) and institutional donors nationally and internationally. The position holder is also required to provide contract management support to ongoing projects and aid capacity development initiatives around fund raising and contract management.

 

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

 Fund Raising: 

  •  Initiate and assist concept note and funding proposal development;
  • Ensure the compliance of donor and AABs requirements in the concept note and funding proposal;
  • Assist AAB priorities in needs assessments, problem analysis, logical framework development, risk assessment and stakeholder analysis
  • Assist PPD team in developing fund-raising strategy, funding plan and donor scoping report 


Contract Management: 

  • Identify/Collate reporting commitments (programmatic & financial) of ongoing projects and follow up with project managers before submission deadlines;
  • Assist Project Manager to ensure donor requirements (as per project proposal and MoU) are met and all reports submitted to the donor are of ‘good’ quality. 
  • Participate in monitoring of project for aid effectiveness and enhanced accountability.
  • Prepare and Update Project Manager’s Toolkit to aid in project management
  • Organize Project Manager’s Forum meeting

 

Database Management: 

  • Preparation, regular Update and maintenance of the project information database and relevant information.
  • Provide project related information and generate report for IPD, Board and SLT meeting.

 

Liaise with and provide support to and build linkages with programmatic areas of AAB, IPD and Donors:

  •  Assist Program and Partnership Development (PPD) team to share plan and progress of routine activities
  • Maintain working relation with AAB priorities
  • Maintain working relationship with International Partnership development (IPD) unit of AA
  • Maintain donor communications
  • Attend all staff meetings.


Capacity Building of Partner Organizations

  • Assist the development of Concept Note/Proposal writing manual
  • Facilitate and organize training for AAB staff members and partner organizations

 

Relationships

S/he will report to Manager - Programme and Partnership Development of ActionAid Bangladesh.
S/he has to maintain functional relationship with her/ his peers in the team. S/he must be able to make effective communications with other programme and operational teams and Partner NGOs.

 

Required qualification and competencies

Education & Training

  • University degree (Master’s Degree or equivalent) in Political Science, International Relations, Social science, Law, or other related field
  • Extensive experience and training on Project development and Proposal writing
  • Training on Grants management
  • Training on Human rights-based approach
  • Training on developing and managing web-based and offline data management system
  • Training on Report writing and case study preparations


Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of working experiences in development organizations in relevant field. Preferably worked in International NGO;

 

Other desirable skills 

  • Knowledge on Child rights;
  • Expertise in conducting training/workshops;
  • Ability in Managing web-based data management system;
  • Sound in basic computer operating system;
  • Ideas on development issues;
  • Willing to visit field frequently;
  • Orientation Gender sensitivity;
  • Hard working and ability to meet strict deadlines;
  • Ability to work in a diverse team;
