Action for Transformation: Youth for Rights, Resilience, and Redistribution in Fragile Context

ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) is currently implementing the project “Action for Transformation: Youth for Rights, Resilience, and Redistribution in Fragile Contexts,” with technical support from ActionAid Denmark and funding from the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA). Operating across 18 districts including Dhaka, Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Satkhira, and Kurigram, this initiative ensures young people can exercise their democratic rights, access essential public services, and develop sustainable livelihoods. By integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the programme promotes youth-led advocacy and social transformation specifically tailored to the challenges of fragile and climate-vulnerable contexts.

Central to this mission is Global Platform Bangladesh (GPB), ActionAid’s specialised network for youth-led activism. GPB serves as a vibrant implementation hub by providing both physical and digital spaces where young people and grassroots movements can harness their collective power. Through participatory and action-oriented capacity building, GPB equips activists to lead on critical issues such as climate justice, gender-responsive public services, and democratic governance. This platform bridges the gap between local energy and global impact, fostering a generation capable of driving creative activism, evidence-based advocacy, and sustainable development.

This mission is further amplified through the Youth and Just Society programme’s collaboration with seven strategic partners, including the Citizen’s Platform/CPD, SANEM, and the Youth Policy Forum (YPF). By partnering with the Consumer Association of Bangladesh (CAB), PRAAN, The Daily Star, and the Dhaka University Debating Society (DUDS), the project ensures that youth voices are integrated into national policy dialogues and media narratives. Together, these partnerships and the GPB network create a cohesive ecosystem that empowers the next generation to demand accountability and lead the charge toward a more equitable and resilient Bangladesh.
