Empowering Rohingya Women and Girls by Enhancing Protection, Resilience, and Market Access

The project, titled “Empowering Rohingya Women and Girls by Enhancing Protection, Resilience, and Market Access,” adopts a holistic and innovative approach to address the complex challenges faced by Rohingya women and girls living in displacement settings. Central to the project’s strategy is the promotion of women’s leadership and the establishment of Multi-purpose Women Centres (MPWCs), which serve as safe, inclusive, and accessible spaces for women and girls.

Through the MPWCs, the project delivers a wide range of essential services, including protection support, psychosocial care, life skills education, and awareness on rights and safety. These centres act as a one-stop service hub where women and girls can access information, build confidence, and engage in community-based activities. The initiative also actively fosters women-led networks, encouraging participation in decision-making processes and strengthening leadership capacities within the community.

A strong emphasis is placed on economic empowerment to ensure long-term resilience. The project supports women and girls in developing vocational skills, accessing market opportunities, and engaging in income-generating activities. By linking participants to both online and offline market systems, it creates sustainable pathways for livelihood development. This not only enhances their financial independence but also strengthens their ability to support their families and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Overall, the project aims to create an enabling environment where Rohingya women and girls can realize their potential, exercise their rights, and lead dignified lives. By integrating protection, leadership, and economic empowerment, the initiative contributes to the broader goal of improving well-being and fostering resilience within the Rohingya community.
