ActionAid Bangladesh is looking for suitable candidate for the following position:

Salary and benefits                 :                Monthly Gross Salary will be BDT. 25,000 with group life insurance coverage. 

Project Brief

The overall objectives of the project are to strengthen grassroot support for an Employment Injury Insurance (EII) and will create awareness regarding the benefits of an EII among workers, but also strengthens the capacity of the civil society organizations. Therefore, the project aims at enhancing the knowledge on EII through develop and conducting the training for workers/ federation leaders, Government and civil society, Garments owner associations in order to ignite the advocacy for establishing EII in Bangladesh’s Apparel sector.

Key responsibilities include (not limited to): 

• Providing support to the team for the delivery and Implementation of project activities
• Assist project team in maintaining regular communication with partner organizations
• Regular field visit and monitor the activities at filed level to ensure quality and timely implementation of planned activities
• Ensure proper documentation of all activities and lesson learns
• Provide support in organizing events through arranging venue, logistics and helping in communications with participants
• Assist the project team in day-to-day work by providing logistics arrangement and communications support
• Perform any other tasks related to the project assigned by the Project Manager.

Relationships 

Under the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Officer, She/he is expected to maintain functional relationship with her/his peers in team, priority and project management team. S/he must be able to communicate with other teams and units, both program and function regarding programme and operational issues. Expected to maintain linkages with partners and also maintain liaison with different networks, forums, partners, and related stakeholders.

Required qualification and competencies 

• Graduation/Post Graduation or equivalent in relevant subject areas i.e. Law and Justice, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or relevant discipline from any reputable university
• Previous work experiences of RMG worker rights related projects in INGO/NGO will be an advantage
• Skill on documentation and reporting
• Good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
• Basic understanding on labour rights and entitlements and familiar with Human Rights Based Approach
• Excellent written and verbal communication skill both in Bangla and English
• MS Office packages including spread sheet and Access. SPSS as added advantage
