RE Fest 2026 will bring together 1,000+ participants from government, business, finance, academia, civil society, and regional networks to shape the future of Bangladesh's renewable energy transition.

Renewable Energy Fest 2026 (RE Fest’26) jointly organised by ActionAid Bangladesh and Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in collaboration with Just Energy Transition Network Bangladesh (JETnet-BD) and Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development (IESD), BUET.
Nearly 95% of Bangladesh's installed electricity generation still depends on fossil fuels, much of it imported and exposed to volatile global prices and supply disruptions, creating significant economic pressure on industries, businesses, and households. Globally, the picture is changing fast: the IEA projects renewables will overtake coal as the world's largest electricity source by 2026, and neighbours from India to Nepal are scaling up rapidly.
Bangladesh has taken its own first steps through the Renewable Energy Policy 2025 and its target to deploy 10,000 MW solar power by 2030. However, the transition must still be made inclusive, accountable and shaped by the people it affects most.
Renewable Energy Fest 2026 has been designed to advance exactly that vision; a national platform bringing policymakers, regulators, development partners, investors, innovators, workers, women leaders, youth and communities together for three days of dialogue, exhibition, collaboration and action, building on the momentum of RE Fest’25.
