ActionAid Bangladesh advocates for women rights to food and nutrition security and as well as Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. To address the issues AAB has several flagship projects including Making Market Work for Women (MMWW), Promoting Opportunities for Women’s Empowerment and Rights (POWER) and others. AAB believes that collaborated coordination of different organizations working for ensuring SRHR and nutrition rights can deepen understanding of these issues.

With this view, AAB organized a national fair in collaboration with 14 national and international organizations who are working at the grassroots for removing social, economic and structural barriers to SRHR and nutrition rights of women and girls.

The main purpose of this event is to strengthen the relationship of like-minded organizations including NGOs and private sectors and SRHR and nutrition professionals to contribute to the wellbeing of women and girls related to SRHR and nutritional demand.

During this fair, the like-minded organizations came together and discovered the area of convergences and identified the social, cultural, economic and structural barriers of SRHR & nutrition rights of women & girls and draw a pathway to remove these gaps.

World Vision, Red Orange, UNFPA, BAPSA, TDH, MAX Foundation, Blue Gold, PSTC, BBC Media, Johns Hopkins, Marie Stopes, NEARS, UBR alliance were the collaborators of the fair. They showcased their activities on SRHR and nutrition rights and exhibited different products produced by rural women.

Country Director of ActionAid Bangladesh Farah Kabir, Director of Institute of Public Health Nutrition Dr. Md. Khalilur Rahman, Ambassador of Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Dhaka Harry Verweij also spoke in the inaugural ceremony of the event.
