Water, an elemental force of life, finds itself at a critical juncture as the specter of climate change looms large, posing a threat to ecosystems and the livelihoods of millions. Despite these challenges, there exists a unified determination to safeguard this invaluable resource and cultivate resilience in the face of adversity. ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) has successfully hosted its flagship event, the International Water Conference, advocating for water justice and addressing pertinent thematic issues. Entitled "Water, Rivers, and Climate Change: Creating Space for Resilience," the 9th edition of this conference, held on January 24-25, 2024, builds upon the achievements of its predecessors dating back to 2016.

Serving as a nexus for knowledge exchange, partnership building, and innovation, the conference convenes a diverse array of experts, practitioners, policymakers, and youth leaders from Bangladesh and beyond. This hybrid event, conducted both in-person and virtually via Zoom, attracted 855 participants, including national and international figures across various sectors. The opening ceremony featured keynote addresses by esteemed guests, including Nardia Simpson, Acting High Commissioner of Australia to Bangladesh, and Saber Hossain Chowdhury, MP and Minister of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.
