Job Summary: 

Over 1 million of Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Citizen (with the majority comprising women and children) took shelter in different camps in Cox’s Bazar-southern Bangladesh on August 2017. The Government of Bangladesh, together with national and international partners, have pro‐actively responding to this crisis with a massive humanitarian response, allocating 2,000 acres of land, coordinating and providing critical assistance such as food, nutrition, shelter, water, health & hygiene, psycho‐social and basic education services to the camps, settlements and host communities. 

ActionAid is implementing Volunteer Service program in Camp 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 funded by WFP. Besides, ActionAid have ongoing programmes in different sectors e.g. Protection, WASH, NFI etc. inside the camps. As a response agency since September 2017, ActionAid has developed relationships with a range of camp actors, including the Rohingya and their representatives and successfully doing the site management role. ActionAid is working with WFP to facilitate the formation and activation of 6 Rohingya Food Security Committees in 6 intervening camps, provide trainings and incentives to 1800 Rohingya youth and adolescents volunteers to contribute to the effectiveness of camp level services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Life Skills Trainer for WFP Funded Volunteer service Project to train people in different Life skills related field. The trainers must be knowledgeable in their field of expertise and possess solid technical aptitude. Additionally, we expect the position holder to be an excellent communicator, able to explain complex subjects in a clear and interesting way. The goal is to contribute to the development of community people’s life skills to meet the Project needs.


Key responsibilities include (not limited to) :

Coordinate and implement of Volunteers Service intervention in the camp

  • Take lead in programme intervention in the camps according to the project work plan and budget;
  • Implement Life Skill Training project and monitor programme intervention in the camp;
  • Facilitate regular life skills training session as per detail plan;
  • Assist and coordinate CBT distribution planning;
  • Assist PO to develop life skills training curriculum based on donor’s guideline;
  • Ensure Volunteers daily attendance with MODA and manually;
  • Assist Associate Officer-CBT to prepare master roll and payment;
  • Maintain different register and stock in the camp level and report to the project management;
  • Prepare requisition for raw materials and equipment;
  • Maintain the training equipment that are used at center;
  • Involve in different Group formation and orientation.

       

Reporting and documentation

  • Prepare periodical camp level programme report, attend bi-weekly RFSC meeting;
  • Consolidate field data, good examples and lessons learnt;
  • Compile programme updates and make report as per the prescribed template for M&E and donor.

 

Relationships

The person holds this position will be reportable to Project Coordinator

Required Educational Qualification and Experiences

Education

  • Graduation in any discipline.

Experience

  • Min. of 2 years experiences in a development organization
  • Experiences in humanitarian Rohingya response project implementation


Required Competencies

  • Familiar with Rohingya and Local dialect
  • Excellent training facilitation skills
  • Good communication skills in Bengali and English
  • Ability to work independently and foster a team spirit
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Skills in report writing, documentation
  • Tech savvy, Good in MS Office Packages
  • Gender sensitive and familiar with humanitarian principles, Human Right Based Approach
