Associate Officer - Technical Supervision

Project                             :              Site Development Project, funded by IOM

Location of posting         :              Cox’s Bazar

Types of contract             :              Fixed term contract

Duration of Contract       :              Up to 31 March 2021 (have possibility of extension depending on the donor fund)

Number of Positions        :             1

Salary and benefits          :             Monthly Gross Salary will be BDT. 44,415 with other admissible benefits such as mobile & internet allowance, medical benefit, group life insurance etc

 

Position Summary

Associate Officer – Technical Supervision will be responsible for assisting Technical Officer- Supervision in implementation of Site Development activities, Survey Monitoring, Networking and Coordination with camp level service providers as well as establish linkage among community and ActionAid, CFW, maintain quality standard, reporting and managing activities of the volunteers.

 

Key responsibilities include (not limited to)                   

Supervise the construction of SD schemes on site

Supervise cash-for-work participants, ensure on-time attendance, and maintain register

Prepare master roll for cash payment

Make sure that standards set out IOM and ISCG are ensured during SD construction work

Assist in the planning and designing of SD Schemes

Assist in the preparation of BoQ as per the design of the specific infrastructures

Identify SD schemes through DRR assessments

Monitor and evaluate the impact of SD interventions

Ensure quality of work at the field level

 

Relationships

The person holds this position will be reportable to Technical Officer - Supervision


Required Educational Qualification and Experiences

Education

  • B.Sc in Civil Engineering. Candidates with Diploma may be considered based on the experiences and skills in the sector

Experience

  • At least 2 years of work experience in relevant sectors.

 

Required Competencies

  • Knowledge of KoBo and ODK
  • Understanding of CCCM/Cash-for-work (CFW) is highly desired
  • Proficiency in Local Language is an advantage
  • Working knowledge of written and spoken Bengali and English.
  • Ability to work independently and foster a team spirit.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Skills in report writing, documentation and presentation.
  • Gender sensitive and familiar with humanitarian principles, Human Rights Based Approach.
  • Good knowledge of using internet and software packages (i.e. MS Office, etc).
