ActionAid Bangladesh (AAB) is looking for suitable candidate for the following position:

Project Manager

 

Project                           :      ‘Strengthening Gender-based Violence (GBV) prevention services though OCCs at District and Upazila level and enhancing lifesaving response for women and girls through an integrated GBV and A/SRHR approach in the natural disaster-prone areas of Bangladesh’ project (funded by UNFPA)  


 Location of posting     :     Cox’s bazar

Types of contract         :     Fixed term contract

Duration of Contract   :     Up to 31 December 2021 (but have a possibility of extension depending on donor fund availability)

Number of Positions   :     1

Salary and benefits     :     Monthly Gross Salary will be 152,900/- with other admissible benefits such as

                                         medical benefit, mobile & internet allowance and group life insurance etc.

 

Position Summary 

The position requires clear understanding on OCC (One-Stop Crisis Centre) operations in Bangladesh, experience on rights-based approach and ability to analyze social and legal aspect for VAW (Violence Against Women), existing laws and policies and international instruments with training facilitation skill as well as ability to facilitated OCC at District and Uaziala level.  S/he must have a clear understanding on dimension of Multi-Sectoral Programme on Violence Against Women Ministry of Women and Children Affairs, underlying causes of VAW ie   patriarchy, masculinity and sexuality, women identity, body integrity and women’s sexual rights, women empowerment analyzing socio–economic and political leadership,  in country and international aspect and link relevant campaign issues with analytical ability to design programme for child and women protection from sexual exploitation and other VAW&G. S/he must has networking and liaison capacity to strengthen different networks and collaboration and coordination  among GoB  and  NGOs.

 

Key responsibilities include (not limited to)

Project Management:

  • Ensure project goal and impact are achieved through effective and efficient project management.
  • Develop annual and quarterly work plans, budgets; update the project description and activity plans and coordinate with the relevant stakes and implement in coordination with UNFPA.
  • Provide strong servant leadership, encourage, support, coach and mentor the project team, ensuring capacity is built and appropriate results are attained.
  • Maintain and report on the monitoring, evaluation and learning of the project, to ensure detailed and strategic reports for AAB annual reports, UNFPA and other donors as requested.


Financial Management  

  • Overall responsibility for the financial management, includes development of annual budgets, monthly accounting and quarterly reporting in line with ActionAid’s processes and guidelines and reporting to donor.
  • Ensure and monitor the allocation of resources in the most efficient and cost-effective way while aiming for the highest quality of implementation.
  •  Monitor on monthly basis actual expenditures and compare them with the implementation model, budget requirements, review the budget if needed with the Finance team and other stakeholders who are implementing the project.
  • Ensure compliance with AAB and Government of Bangladesh.


Networking and Advocacy:

  • Develop working relationship with internal/external stakeholders of AAB.
  • Develop strategic relationship and partnership with key stakeholders at Local, District and National Level.
  • Establish adequate referral linkage of project target groups with the appropriate service providers, policy makers and other stakeholders.

 

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and other programme reports and document in time aligning with project design and donor requirement.
  • Develop reports as and when required.
  • Maintain database management in Horizon for Project as per requirement.
  • Capture evidence of good practices in regular basis.

 

Team Building & team management: 

  • Maintain interpersonal communication in team and Organization.
  • Strengthening team member’s capacity.
  • Ensuring to develop successor of the team.
  • Planning, supervision & appraisal.
  • Knowledge and capacity building of the team members.


Relationships

The person holds this position will be reportable to Manager - Women Rights & Gender Equity of ActionAid Bangladesh.


Required Educational Qualification and Experiences

Education

Post-Graduation degree in Social Science or any other relevant discipline.


Experience


Required Competencies

  • Ability to promote and mainstream gender base violence agenda.
  • Capacity to analyse the gap and ambiguity of laws, policies of SVAW programme.
  • Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
  • Good understanding on research, advocacy and campaigns.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Should be gender sensitive and familiar with Human Rights Based Approach.
